Information for Indian Subscribers
Due to the new banking regulations in India, some cards don't support recurring payments anymore. As a result, this may affect your subscription renewals and attempts to upgrade your plan or purchase extra credits.
Automatic renmewal
Since Freepik subscriptions renew automatically, you will need to use a card that supports recurring online international payments.

Before you purchase, make sure that your card:
- Has sufficient funds
- Is enabled for international and recurring purchases
- It's not expired or canceled and you´re introducing all the information correctly.
You can check this in your bank’s online account or app or through contact with them.
Be also aware that your bank may need to verify your identity for security reasons with an OTP, PIN, fingerprint, code or any other way to verify your identity.
If your card is still rejected you can try:
- A different payment method.
- Making the purchase from an incognito window.
- Get in touch with your bank or card issuer.
- Sometimes there may be a temporary connection issue with your bank, you can try again in about 30 minutes.
Upgrade to a higher-tier plan or extra credits purchase
We regret to inform you that, due to recent banking regulations in India, the option to add extra credits or upgrade your subscription directly is temporarily unavailable.
Our technical team is actively working on resolving this issue, and we hope to restore full functionality as soon as possible.
What you can do in the meantime
If you need more credits or wish to upgrade your subscription, we recommend the following:
- Option 1 – Wait until renewal: You may continue using your current plan until the end of your billing period. Once your subscription ends, you’ll be able to upgrade to your desired plan. This way, all your settings, generations, and custom characters will be preserved.
- Option 2 – Immediate upgrade: If you prefer not to wait, please contact our Customer Support. We can assist you in canceling your current subscription so you can proceed with a new one immediately.
Please note: Rest assured, you won't lose any of your generations or custom characters in the process. If you have remaining credits on your current plan and haven’t used them, let us know. We’ll do our best to transfer those credits to your new subscription.
